US bond yields show a slight decline

The yield on US Treasury bonds declined slightly, which is due to the caution of market participants after yesterday's fall in stock markets and the publication of mixed economic data. In addition, investors are waiting for the publication of the minutes of the last Fed meeting.

The yield on 5-year Treasury bonds fell by 1.2 basis points, reaching 2.745%, while the yield on 30-year bonds was 2.959% (-1.3 basis points). Meanwhile, the yield on 2-year Treasury bonds, reflecting expectations of short-term interest rates, decreased by 0.7 basis points to 2.514%, while the yield on 10-year bonds fell to 2.749% (-1.1 basis points).

As for the minutes of the Fed's May meeting, it will be published at 18:00 GMT. The minutes of the May meeting may present a "hawkish" surprise if it shows that Fed officials have seriously discussed a sharper tightening of policy to curb inflationary pressures, analysts say. Earlier, a more aggressive tightening of the Fed's policy raised concerns that this could contribute to a slowdown in economic growth.

In addition, durable goods orders data for April will be released today at 12:30 GMT. Economists expect orders to rise 0.6% after an increase of 0.8% in March.
