U.S. President Donald Trump said at a press conference on Wednesday that the Federal Reserve's chair Jerome Powell has done a poor job and probably will not cut rates today. He added that it would be nice for the federal funds rate to be 2.5 percentage points lower. If the Fed lowers rates, we would buy debt for a lot less, Trump noted.
