European Commission (EC) spokesperson said on Monday that Commissioner for Trade Maros Sefcovic is to meet U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in Paris on Wednesday, while technical teams from both sides will hold talks in Washington throughout the week.
The spokesperson noted that EC is prioritising negotiations to resolve the conflict, emphasising a preference for reducing or eliminating tariffs rather than escalating them. "That remains the case, that remains our priority," the spokesperson added. "We will be making that case strongly both at technical level and at political level this week."
