In a CNN interview, U.S. House speaker Mike Johnson confirmed that an agreement had been reached to raise the state and local tax (SALT) deduction in the large reconciliation bill to $40,000 (from $10,000 in the current law) compared to $30,000 in the original text of the bill.
He also added that the final vote on the bill is expected this week, possibly tonight.
