The European Central Bank's Governing Council member Francois Villeroy de Galhau said on Tuesday that the ECB's policymakers will do what’s necessary to bring inflation back to 2% in 2024. He noted, however, that if there are unexpected factors that slow this down it could be 2025, but they are aiming for the end of 2024.
Also, the policymaker said that he thinks Europe's economy will avoid a hard landing.
