Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association (JMTBA) announced on Monday its preliminary estimates showed that the country's machine tool orders rose
17.1 percent y-o-y in June, following a 23.7 percent y-o-y surge in May.
According to the report, the total value of machine tool orders in June
was JPY154.685 billion, which was up 0.9 percent from May’s reading of JPY153.334
billion.
In June, domestic orders amounted to JPY58.630 billion (+18.5 percent m-o-m
and +31.3 percent y-o-y), while foreign orders totaled JPY96.055 billion (-7.5 percent
m-o-m but +9.9 percent y-o-y).
For the first half of the year, the Japanese machine tool orders soared by
29.8 percent y-o-y to JPY911.196 billion.
