Multiple media outlets report that Japan's prime minister (PM) Fumio Kishida stated on Thursday that the Japanese government will decide on Friday, January 7th, whether to announce a state of quasi-emergency for parts of the country.
In addition, the PM said that Japan will use Friday's "two-plus-two" talks with the U.S. officials to repeat its request that the U.S. military should take stricter steps to prevent the coronavirus spread.
