The European Central Bank's Governing Council member Mario Centeno said on Tuesday that the interest rate hike cycly will continue in order to tame inflation, as the eurozone is now facing an succession of overlapping shocks that have changed the economic context in significant way.
He also acknowledged that inflation in the region will be higher and less temporary than he thought a year ago. In addition, the policymaker noted that there is no de-anchoring of inflation expectations in Europe.
