According to multiple news outlets, Japan's Prime Minister (PM) Fumio Kishida announced on Tuesday about the intention to impose a quasi-state of emergency on some regions of the country from January 21 to February 13, as coronavirus cases surge.
The decision could be announced as early as Wednesday.
