Federal Reserve governor Christopher Waller said Friday that he thinks the U.S. central bank is in a position that it could cut rates as early as July.
The official emphasised that he believes that tariffs will be a one-time factor and will not cause persistent inflation.
Waller argued the Fed should not wait for the U.S. job market to crash before cutting rates and said he’s in favour of thinking about cutting the policy rate at the next meeting.
