The European Commission (EC) reported on Thursday its flash estimate revealed
the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone edged down by 0.1 percentage
point to -19.2 in March from a downwardly revised -19.1 (from -19.0) in the previous
month.
Economists had expected the index to increase to -18.3
early this month.
Considering the European Union (EU) as a whole, the consumer sentiment
indicator also slipped by 0.1 percentage point to -20.7 in March.
Both indicators were well below their long-term averages in March.
