Eurozone's finance ministers said in a joint statement that they agree that prudent fiscal policies in 2023-2024 should aim at ensuring medium-term debt sustainability. The ministers also noted that broad-based fiscal stimulus to aggregate demand is not warranted.
In addition, they stated that given strong spillovers in energy markets, the Eurozone's economies will coordinate measures to preserve the integrity of the single market and competitive playing field, and will continue to phase out energy support measures, which would also contribute to reducing government deficits.
