The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) member Catherine Mann said Tuesday that she thinks that more needed to be done with rates. She added that she is concerned about the persistence of core inflation, and the weak pound is significant for inflation.
Also, the policymaker noted that there has been quite a hawkish tone from the Fed and ECB, adding that the question is how much of that existing hawkish tone is already priced into the pound. "If Fed hawkishness is not priced in, the pound could fall further," Mann warned.
