During today's Asian trading, the US dollar declined moderately against major currencies, offsetting yesterday's increase.

The US Dollar Currency Index (DXY), which tracks the dynamics of the dollar against six currencies (euro, swiss franc, yen, canadian dollar, pound sterling and swedish krona) fell by 0.36% to 104.50.

Investors continue to evaluate the data and statements of Federal Reserve System (Fed) policymakers to try to predict future interest rate changes.

According to Fed fund futures, market participants see some probability that at the next Fed meeting the rate will be raised immediately by 50 basis points, although earlier investors were sure that now the Central Bank will raise the rate by 0.25%. In general, the market is waiting for the rate to rise to a peak level of 5.25-5.5% from the current 4.5-4.75%.

The yuan rose 0.7% against the US dollar on the back of favorable data on China. The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in the manufacturing sector rose to 52.6 points in February from 50.1 points in January. Experts expected a more moderate increase, up to 50.5 points.  The services PMI rose to 56.3 points from 54.4 points in January, and reached the highest level since March 2021. The index value above the 50-point mark indicates an expansion of business activity, below - its reduction.
