The European Central Bank's president Christine Lagarde told in an interview with The Economic Times (India) on Friday that there is every reason to believe that the ECB will do another 50 basis points in March. "After that, we will see," she added. "We are data dependent".
Lagarde noted that the ECB's policymakers will do more hikes if necessary to return inflation to the ECB's target of 2% in a timely manner. "It will take what it will take," the ECB's president said and added they want to not only return inflation to 2% but to keep it there sustainably.
