Germany's January CPI release postponed till next week

Destatis, Germany's Federal Statistical Office, announced on Monday that it would postpone the release of its report on the consumer price index for January, which was initially scheduled for Tuesday, till next week. The technical problems with data processing were cited as a cause of the delay.

Meanwhile, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, informed that it would use estimated CPI data for Germany when it publishes its Eurozone inflation readings on February 1, as planned.
