Wheat futures jump to record high as Ukraine shuts down exports
Wheat futures climbed again on Monday, reaching all-time highs, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine shuts off an important source of grain exports and threatens future supply.
The quotes of soft red winter wheat for delivery in May 2022 (WK22) climbed 7.0% to $12.94/bushel.
Last week, wheat futures soared 40.6%, registering their sharpest weekly increase on record.
YTD, wheat quotes are up nearly 70%.
