The UK's Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson said on Monday that they are making great progress in combating the Omicron coronavirus variant but acknowledged that the number of cases in the hospital continues to increase. Nearly 30% of cases were contracted in hospitals, he noted, adding that this is unacceptable.
Britain's PM also said that he understands the financial pressures the households grapple with, and he discuss this question with the UK's Finance Minister Rishi Sunak last night.
Johnson also noted that he is considering the possibility of reducing the quarantine period from 7 to 5 days.
