INSEE reported on Friday that industrial production in France fell 0.4
percent m-o-m in November, following an unrevised 0.9 percent m-o-m rise in the
previous month. Economists had expected a 0.5 percent m-o-m advance.
According to the report, the decline mainly reflected a 0.6 percent m-o-m drop
in manufacturing output, which was driven by drops in production of transport
equipment (-4.6 percent m-o-m), machinery, and equipment goods (-1.4 percent m-o-m).
Meanwhile, the manufacturing of coke and refined petroleum (+8.2 percent m-o-m) and
food products and beverages (+1.2 percent m-o-m) witnessed gains.
