According to Johns Hopkins’ data, the daily number of new Covid cases in the world reached 1.49 million on Monday. The U.S. also reported a record number of new confirmed cases of 512,553.
Meanwhile, the total number of global deaths since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic rose to 5.4 million. The U.S. deaths exceeded 820,000, making up more than 15% of the total global death toll.
