According to the report from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), the number of new car registrations in Europe fell again in November, recording the fifth monthly drop in a row.
According to the report, in November, sales of new cars in the EU decreased by 20.5% per annum, and amounted to 713,346 units, which is the lowest value in the entire history of observations (since 1993). In October, sales of new cars decreased by 30.3% per annum. Economists had expected a 17% drop in November.
The data also showed that new car sales declined in Germany (-31.7% per annum), Italy (-24.6% per annum), Spain (-12.3% per annum) and France (-3.2% per annum).
Meanwhile, from the beginning of 2021 (to January), sales of new cars in the EU have hardly changed (-0.04% per annum), which was due to the impact of the shortage of microchips on the production of cars.
