Car sales in China continued to decline in November - CAAM

According to the report from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), last month car sales decreased by 9.1% per annum, to 2.52 million units, and recorded the seventh monthly decline in a row.

The data showed that in November sales of new energy vehicles increased by 121%, to 450,000 units. which was facilitated by government initiatives to reduce pollution.

China Passenger Car Association (CPAA) reported on Wednesday that Tesla Inc sold 52,859 Chinese-made cars in November, including 21,127 for export.

CAAM spokesman Chan Shihua reported that car sales in November exceeded expectations, helped by falling commodity prices and easing electricity shortages. However, Shihua added that the shortage of semiconductors will continue to negatively affect car production in December.
