According to the report from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), car sales in China declined again in November, recording the sixth monthly drop in a row, as single outbreaks of Covid-19 negatively affect retail sales.
The data showed that last month sales of passenger cars decreased by 12.7% per annum, amounting to 1.82 million units. Meanwhile, since the beginning of this year (through November), car sales have increased by 6.1% per annum.
While car production in China is gradually recovering, consumer spending has shown weakness in recent months, with a new strain of the coronavirus "omicron" may increase uncertainty in the coming months.
CPCA also reported that sales of electric and hybrid vehicles totaled 378,000 units last month, more than double the number in November 2020.
