Commenting on the newly-detected Omicron coronavirus variant, the former White House advisor Andy Slavitt told CNBC on Monday that it poses a higher risk for the unvaccinated people.
He also noted that what they know for sure is that this variant is dangerous for people, who have not been vaccinated and suggested that the available vaccines are going to be “quite effective.”
Slavitt also said it is possible that updated vaccines will be available in the next several months, if needed.
