A source in OPEC+ said that in the face of uncertainty related to the impact of a new strain of coronavirus on demand prospects, OPEC+ members on Thursday may discuss the issue of suspending the increase in oil production, which was scheduled for January.
"The omicron coronavirus strain and the US oil release from strategic reserves, together with other countries of the world, have created uncertainty in the oil market," the source said.
Earlier, OPEC+ agreed on a monthly increase in global supplies by 400,000 barrels per day, gradually canceling last year's record supply cuts of about 10 million barrels.
