Bloomberg reported that the European Union's economy commissioner Paolo Gentiloni said that the region's economies had “no reason to panic” over the Omicron coronavirus variant. He, however, clarified that he did not mean that they would not face problems but overall the EU's economies are adapted to these kinds of crises because of the vaccines.
Gentiloni also noted that the economic impact of the latest round of restrictive measures imposed by governments was expected to be “weaker” than in prior waves.
