The
European Commission (EC) announced on Monday its flash estimate showed the consumer
confidence indicator for the Eurozone declined by 2.0points to -6.8 in November
from an unrevised -4.8 in the previous month. This was the lowest reading since April.
Economists
had expected the index to drop to -8.2.
Considering
the European Union (EU) as a whole, consumer sentiment deteriorated
by 2.1 points to -6.1 early this month.
Despite
this month’s declines, both indicators remained above their long-term averages,
but the EU measure was below its pre-pandemic level.
