Inflation may have peaked, but it still poses a threat to investors - Wells Fargo.

Scott Wren, senior global markets strategist at Wells Fargo, noted that inflation is likely to have peaked, arguing that the latest drop in the cost of raw materials for the production of finished products.

It should not be ruled out that the rise in raw material prices has peaked, Ren said, referring to the latest Wells Fargo Investment Institute report.

In this report, it was reported that the dynamics of raw material prices can be a predictive indicator of how consumer inflation will develop in the next year.

"If the general trend continues, we may witness a slight weakening of consumer inflation by about the middle of 2022. In addition, we believe that inflation may decrease significantly by the end of next year. For example, prices for certain goods - lumber, copper and soybeans - are already much lower than the peaks of the current year," the report said.

The latest data showed that consumer inflation in the United States reached its highest level in more than 30 years in October.

According to Ren, despite the fact that in 2022 the cost of living, which is measured by the CPI, is likely to remain elevated, we may soon see the formation of a peak.
