French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire reiterated his confidence that the currently observed inflationary pressure will be temporary. However, he warned that politicians should carefully monitor the situation with inflation.
Le Maire noted that in certain sectors where companies are experiencing difficulties with hiring, it is worth resorting to wage increases, and thus protect consumers from the current inflationary pressure.
The latest eurozone data showed that consumer inflation is twice the ECB's target of 2%, which undermines the purchasing power of the population and increases pressure on the ECB to abandon its ultra-easy monetary policy.
