Inflation fears may cause "some chaos" - IBM CEO

During an interview with CNBC, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna expressed concern about the prospects for inflation, and also warned that disruptions are possible in the future.

"I am very concerned about inflation, and I believe it may cause some chaos”" Krishna said, adding that the disruption may not unfold for some time.

”I am always worried about inflation, but I am not sure that it will affect the business in 2022," said the CEO of IBM.

Earlier, Fed Chairman Powell noted that inflationary conditions are likely to persist “throughout the next year." He also expressed disappointment that the supply chain problems show no signs of improvement. However, the Fed is of the opinion that the price increase will largely be temporary and problems with supply chains will pass.

Meanwhile, Krishna warned that if a new variant of Covid appears, there could be an economic downturn. ”If some new variant of the virus appears, it will worry me because I think it will cause a temporary, not permanent slowdown," the IBM CEO added.
